More wedding pics

Here's a few more shots of the wedding - of the main event this time. The last picture is of David and Tess with most of their younger nieces and nephews...a few were too old, or too young to be involved in the shot. Note the evidence of Olivia having enjoyed her dinner on the front of her dress - why did I think that the white dresses were a good idea!?!?

Wedding belles

Greg's brother David got married yesterday to his beautiful new wife Tess, so we all headed out to Boonah for the wedding. It was a gorgeous day and our girls were soooo excited to have been invited and part of the action! They were bursting with energy from the time they woke in the morning and behaved remarkably well until we left the festivities hours after their normal bedtime - thank you Lord!

In the time honoured tradition we forgot something - unfortunately this time it was our camera for the actual ceremony...left it at the little unit where Greg's parents were staying and we had changed, so no photos of the wedding itself for you. Tess was a vision though...photos from somewhere else when I can locate them.

The beautiful baby that I'm holding is our delightful and very happy niece Lucy, who was an angel for the entire event.

Easter at Kindy

The kindy Easter parade and morning tea for parents was on last Thursday, so we all went along. Some pics of the 'big' event for you to check out. No - Ellen hasn't lost any teeth - that's the result of her having her first exposure to chocolate for the year!

Olivia was given her small Easter egg from Kindy, and as soon as she saw the 'bunny' she just about burst out of her skin with excitement, and tried to give it to him - that's how it works doesn't it?? She couldn't figure out why he didn't want to receive her egg, and ended up just leaving it on a plate somewhere - of course if it had been a piece of pumpkin he wouldn't have even been spared a thought, she nearly inhales the stuff!! So very different our two girls...

Trying to get the real meaning of Easter through to the girls has been an interesting challenge, and we tried various creative means - the empty egg, making craft while talking about new life, reading Easter books about Jesus being risen, Kids church and MOPS programs that we attend....if you have any more/different ideas for next year I'd be keen to hear about them.

Bright girls

No, I'm not talking up my girls - just their clothes. Picked up these delightfully bright numbers at our Church's recent garage sale for a bargain, and it was a bit cool in the late afternoon on the waterfront, so they had their first wear. Ellen is particularly taken with her 'rainbow' jumper, while Olivia just likes having 'buddons'...
Ever tried to get a 3 and almost 2 year old to look good in the same photo - I guess that's why professionals get paid good money! Thought I should try to get a more up to date photo for my frame at work - might have to get 2, so we can have one decent photo of each of them...

Wave jumping and Papa

These were actually taken on our first visit to the caravan a few weeks ago - they were on Grandma's camera, so I wasn't able to post them until now. Don't get many photos of the girls playing with their grandparents, so thought I would post a few...

You don't get long to enjoy a sandcastle with Olivia around, so the more flashy ones were quickly dealt with, but Papa did manage to build this one with some help from Ellen, complete with a tunnel for the water to run through underneath (Mummy took Olivia for another swim to enable the construction engineers to get to work!).

On your bike

Ellen's had a 'big bike' for a while now, but with the move and so on hasn't had the opportunity to ride as much as she'd like, so we took the girls and their bikes down to the waterfront for a ride last weekend and they had a great time. Next time I need to remember the helmet though - oh Mummy! We discovered that she's gotten a lot taller recently, or her legs have grown, as suddenly the seat needs to be at the highest point. I can see next Christmas's present being sorted already!

Olivia's legs don't quite reach the pedals to go all the way around a cycle revolution (much to her frustration!), so her tricycle still has the handle attached (what an indignity!). She can't wait to be free...the story of her life thus far I think!

We stopped for a cool treat to share from the shop over the road - they've not had one before, so Ellen savoured it, while Olivia took two sucks and decided that the swings were the place to be. It's so nice to be able to head down the waterfront again for walks and plays at the park - we did have great parks up the coast of course, and still visit our favourites when we go back up there, but for me, the waterfront feels like home.
