Future hockeyroos...

Well maybe not quite, but the girls did love their first 'game' at hockey this morning. Hockey is big in our new town, and they have a big and inexpensive kids program designed to get little ones playing early, so it seemed like a healthy sporting option for them both to do. They've really being enjoying the training, loved getting into uniforms today and had an absolute ball racing around the field with their new friends.
They played on the olympic standard water based pitch today, which makes the littlies feel rather important as well. Ellen's team won their little game 8-3, and we couldn't quite tell with Olivia's group, as they were on the far side of the main field where there're no stands, but she assures me that there were many 'points' scored - I did see one...
It's very funny to watch the little ones playing like a pack of sardines, but the skill levels as a team were already markedly better at the end of the game than the beginning. So perhaps Hockeyroos aren't as far fetched as they sound....

Pardon?!?!

I think I've mentioned our youngest's ability to completely unnerve or
bamboozle me at times, this was the other day's effort...

O: Excuse me Mum, just say that I dropped your handbag down a well.
Mum (wondering where this is going): Mmmm?
O: And you asked me, did I drop I drop your handbag in the well, and I
said 'No' - that would be a lie wouldn't it?
Mum: Well yes, it would be Liv.
O: Hmmm - I thought so.
Mum (a tad bemused): Liv - you wouldn't really drop my handbag in a well
would you?
O: Oh no Mum......not unless it was a very deep, dark well.

and then she trots off happily to play, while I'm wondering if I should
start storing my handbags up a little higher, or keep her away from
wells until she's 16...!
