So hard to get...

photos of groups of people, and when some of those are minors, then anything can happen!
We needed some photos for Grandparents Day at school soon, so I tried....mental note for future - trying to include Lauren when she's a bit off colour is not a good idea!
Not bad with the other girls though (despite coming straight from a wet and muddy soccer training session) - which I'm thankful for, as Grandma and Papa are heading off before sunrise tomorrow, so I wasn't relishing trying to get there for a re-shoot!
Lauren was riding on a toy at this point - whatever works!

Now to get Nanna and Grandad - be warned, we're coming!

Wedding bells

Some special friends of mine - life mentors and so much more.
Three crazy, beautiful ladies...finally a photo where none of them are talking or laughing!
The whole family and their partners - the last addition was stunning in her gown.
Well, obviously not ours, but I had the chance to attend the wedding of old family friends on the weekend, and it was so lovely. After the rain all week, the weather was favourable for the event, and stayed that way until we were in the car driving home - perfect provision for the day. These people are some of the treasures in my life, and it was a pleasure to be celebrating with them as the last of the three children got married.

Nice to have a night out and get dressed up too...without having to remember to pack bibs, field a myriad of questions and be home in time to get everyone to bed at an early hour!

Lights out and colours galore

Dinner by candlelight when our area had a blackout - it was rather fun actually!
We had a blackout last week - fortunately just after we had finished cooking dinner, so didn't really affect us much. It was fun having dinner and brushing teeth etc. by candlelight, and reminded us of how much we rely on and are thankful for electricity!

Ellen's psychadelic milk dish
Liv's milk dish
Always a favourite with the girls is the milk surface tension 'experiment', which they love to play with for ages with various colour combinations and trialling different technicques with how much, where and for how long to put the skewer with the detergent into the milk. Unfortunately I don't have droppers for the food colouring, but even with the colours a little heavy handed, it still worked really well. Even Daddy had a turn when he came home from work.

Basket case

Greg thinks I've created another 'book monster' - and I when I found Lauren reading in the laundry basket in her room I had to agree. While he doesn't share our enthusiasm for reading, he does enjoy the benefits of a quiet house when they are all engrossed in books!

Sharing

Lauren had a watermelon picnic for afternoon tea a few weeks ago and I turned around to find her 'sharing' very nicely with her doll. Given Lauren looooves watermelon, this was a very generous gesture! (although perhaps she knew that the doll wouldn't eat much...)

Cloud watching

Found the girls out on the trampoline watching clouds and giggling themselves silly a while ago. They are such a funny bunch and can make each other laugh for ages...often the reason why is a mystery to us!
