2nd Birthday

Ellen had a great 2nd birthday - was spoilt by the extended family as usual, and had a great time playing with her cousin Lachlan. Instead of making her a fancy cake, we decided to bake and decorate one together, which she loved - and Ellen made a mission out of cramming as many M&Ms on the top of the cake as she could. No other decoration managed to get a look in... She'd not had an M&M before, and was quite taken by them - to her disappointment they are a rare sighting in our lives.

I cut her fringe a few days beforehand - (there's a reason that I didn't become a hairdresser!!), but fortunately it seems to be growing out to cover the obvious crookedness rather quickly. I don't think I'll try that again... Greg is suggesting that we utilise the services of a paid professional next time.

We have grass!

It's true - after a year (almost to the day) we have a grassed front yard for the girls to play in. Heartfelt thanks go to our friend Rod Taylor for coming and giving Greg some help, else it may have been a lot longer in the making - the guys put in a huge effort while I kept the girls busy and provided the refreshments. Ellen and I were turning somersaults on the new grass to celebrate later in the afternoon(much to the neighbours and Olivia's amusement!). Now only the fence and gates to go... the end is in sight, although I think the rest will have to wait until the New Year now - for finances and time to be available.
