Another birthday

Daddy's turn for a birthday this time around, and we went out as a family for dinner. Delicious meals and lots of laughs together, followed by his traditional home baked birthday cake with chocolate icing and smarties on top - why mess with the tried and true.
Happy Birthday Daddy - we love you!

A sight I love to see

Greg doesn't understand my passion for books, but thankfully the girls all do. Found them all crowded together the other day on the chair in the playroom, a book each and perfect silence...so lovely!

Lauren's kitchen

Cooking up a storm
No, it's not the name of a new cooking show, it's Lauren's Christmas present from Nana and Grandad.
Greg painstakingly assembled this rather detailed timber kitchen a week or so ago - it took over 2 hours to do (and that's without making any false starts). Now that it's here it has proven to be quite a hit!
Thanks Nana - this was the best value $15 you spent last year and has definitely earned you the title:

First day - new uniforms, new school, same beautiful girls
The girls love their new school and settled in very quickly. They have joined the junior choir, which has also helped to make new friends quickly. Ellen is in Grade 2 this year, and Olivia in Grade 1 - growing up oh so fast!

We've moved!

Old blue eyes...

Our fridge didn't fit the hole, so it's become Lauren's special corner in the kitchen

Lots of light in the family room for when we have breakfast
We've moved into our new abode and have settled in remarkably quickly. We're only a couple of kilometres to the girls new school and they are very keen to trying walking/riding as soon as the weather is more reasonable. It's in a lovely quiet area with lots of bushland, plenty of native birds and some lovely walking paths and parks to keep us busy.
We're still getting used to having neighbours within close proximity again...the noises were unnerving for a few nights and I nearly called out for the girls to 'Stop singing and go to sleep', only to discover that it was a child who lives over the back fence...thankfully I noticed before I spoke!

If you're looking for...

Ellen, here's where she usually is...
I just can't keep up with her reading material at the moment - not a bad problem to have. Even the old English isn't slowing her down....
My Mother is chuckling right now, as she was always having to drag me away from reading to get me to do something around the house as a child, so she's very pleased that I have a 'mini-me' to deal with!

Purely random...

Finally back on line, so a bunch of random pics and events to blog about....funny word 'blog' isn't it?!?!
