Ellen on her way up the tree
Olivia enjoyed her time in the water as usual, and didn't mind a bit getting her clothes soaked
Grandma very generously gave Ellen a lesson in photography and from there she was off - I'm suddenly feeling very grateful that we live in an era of digital cameras or this could get expensive! She actually took a couple of great shots (well balanced, good light and interesting perspectives), so perhaps she'll take over the photographer role in the family in a couple of years...
Aunty Judy and Uncle Arthur - one of Olivia's photographic efforts (under Daddy's very close supervision!!)
Saturday we headed out to Atkinsons Dam north of Gatton for a day with some of the extended Gittins clan - Greg's Dad is part of a very large family, who only see each other occasionally, so it was good to go and meet a few of them.
The girls had a good time - after all, what's not to like about a playground, trees to climb and a dam to paddle in. If only Mummy had thought to pack togs - or even some spare clothes!! Still, what's a bit of water on a hot day right!
Somehow it's always me up in the tree, going down the slides or showing the kids something dirty to do - not that I mind of course - a good excuse to get dirty and have some fun legitimately. Even at my age, I still love the feeling of being on a swing, the rush through the air and the feeling of near flying as you hit that top point beyond which you won't get any higher...any wonder the girls are a tad adventurous with me as their mother.
It was great to spend some time with Lucy too - it's much more fun for them all now that she can walk and play more actively with them too. Greg managed to get a couple of good shots of her when I took her up for a climb in the tree. Cheeky girl!
