I can't believe that it's December already. We went to the girls Friday Playgroup Christmas party at Kawanalife today and had a fantastic time. The girls wore their beautiful dresses that were made by Heidi - don't they look gorgeous. Everyone admired the dresses, and I passed on the praise to Heidi afterwards - the extent of my sewing ability wouldn't come near anything like that.
The breakup was fun - there was everything there, from clowns to face painting, singing, presents, a Christmas drama, stacks of food (including a birthday cake for Baby Jesus), 4 types of craft...and best of all for Ellen, her friend Noah was there to play 'Chasey' with. We were exhausted by the end (or at least I was!) and more than ready for their afternoon sleep.
It's the first year that Ellen has a vague idea of what's going on - particularly re the Christmas Story and the meaning behind Christmas. We put up our Christmas tree last night which was hilarious as Ellen fairly burst out of her skin with excitement trying to do it all at once. Each coloured ball was lovingly placed and then rearranged multiple times to satisfy her curious fingers and her need to touch them and do something.
