Goodness, the month has flown and here we are a day out from Christmas. What a month it's been, with the Jones family Christmas here last Sunday - all 40-odd of them crowded in to the house because the weather wasn't that inviting outside. Ellen had a fantastic time with all her big cousins and was rather disappointed when they all left and it was just us again. Olivia enjoyed the opportunity to smile at heaps more people and loved all the cuddles. No major disasters for the day, although our poor little fridge was woefully inadequate and another shelf broke under the pressure of the day. Still, we qualify that as a success, and are glad that it won't be our turn to be host again for at least another decade!
Both the girls are under the weather with temperatures so I think that we'll have a low-key day today - Olivia is better than she was, but Ellen is just starting the process and is far more melodramatic about it all, so it may be a looong day! Greg started for work at 3:30 this morning, so it will be a long day for him.
I wrenched my back on Friday morning getting some groceries out of the car, so I'm a tad sore today and avoiding picking up the girls much - thankfully Aunty Kathryn and Uncle Russell are coming up for a visit today and will help out. I can't get any further treatment until well after Christmas now - my usual bad timing!
So, we await tomorrow and the excitement of the girls with some anticipation. We've been talking about celebrating Jesus' birthday all month so we'll be having a cake and singing Happy Birthday to Him in the morning. Ellen is very excited about it all - and very appreciative of the fact that she will get some presents on Jesus' birthday too!
