The girls and I decided to try to colour our own Easter eggs this afternoon - only found three food colours in the pantry, but they seemed to work okay. I bravely chose not to boil them first, and believe it or not, they all survived unscathed...I was very surprised! So now we have a brightly coloured reminder for the reason for Easter each time we get an egg out to cook over the next week or so - quick, easy and lots of fun. I ran out of eggs before we could try using cotton sticks to create patterns - another time maybe...

I think we'll try dye next Easter. Yours turned out so well! I've read a few other blogs about natural dyes too, so if I have any success I'll let you know...
